The scraped data is utilized to make informed decisions and can be used for making reports.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mechanize is a popular library available with Ruby on Rails to simplify web scraping. It helps to fetch the pages and data that needs to be scrapped.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The library automates the interaction with websites by storing cookies, following links, and submitting forms.<br><br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-13309 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.botreetechnologies.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/web-scrapping.gif\" alt=\"web scrapping\" width=\"245\" height=\"150\"><\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Here I&#8217;m giving an example by making a simple HTML page which has links and a form<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>First, install the gem mechanize with the below command.<br><code>gem install mechanize<\/code><\/li><li>Make an HTML page with some links and form by submitting that form you&#8217;ll redirect to google home page.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><script src=\"https:\/\/gist.github.com\/jigarshah8055\/ba1fe83eb57731b3eccca3b76562a5bc.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Here there are two links where the home will redirect you to the current page, and the contact link will redirect you to the contact page.<\/li><li>While you submit the given form by giving the username, then it&#8217;ll go to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">google<\/a> home page.<\/li><li>Now you have to make a ruby file and write below code in it.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><script src=\"https:\/\/gist.github.com\/jigarshah8055\/b069d092dfef88af4e6c21e274bcedb5.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>This will give you the reference to basic operations like finding all links from a web page, how to redirect to links, how to get the form to submit forms and how to get data of any web page.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mechanize can help in extracting a long list of data to even short paragraphs from a web page if they are not downloadable.
